New CD of Wind Orchestra Music to be Released in March

A new CD of Stephen McNeff's music for wind orchestra will be released by Prima Facie Records in March 2018.  Recorded in early 2017 with the Band of the RAF Regiment, it will feature the world premiere recording of the Double Percussion Concerto - originally written for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and now in a new version for Wind Orchestra.  It is conducted by Chris l'Anson and features the original soloits, Olly Cox and Owen Gunnel.  Also on the recording are the Concerto for Flute and Wind Orchestra (originally commissioned by Lambeth Wind Orchestra), plus the overture 'Rant'.  The CD features Mark Heron conducting 'Ghosts' - a work on which he is a world authority and here gives the definite reading of this work which is now a corner-stone of contemporary wind orchestra repertoire.
